  • Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. government security clearance (citizenship prerequisite)

  • Familiarity with test equipment and Linux

Nice-to-haves

  • GPA 3.0+ (preferred)

  • DoD Secret clearance (active preferred)

  • Experience with programming languages (e.g., MATLAB, C++, Python, Java) and RF/EW concepts

Northrop Grumman is seeking Systems Integration & Test engineers for an internship opportunity . This position will be located at our Mission Systems sector in Buffalo, NY.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Targeting & Survivability (T&S) Division.

You will have the opportunity to gain exposure & learn about

Designing, developing, and implementing testing methods and equipment. Planning and arranging the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. Providing test areas with parameters for sample testing and specifying tests to be performed. Compiling data and defining changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements.

Basic Qualifications

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must

Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2026 Be majoring in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or closely related Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) degree Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2026. Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) Knowledge of or experience with the use of test equipment (e.g.. Oscilloscope, Power meter, frequency counter, Spectrum analyzer, etc.) Knowledge of or experience with Linux

Preferred Qualifications

Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher A current/active DoD Secret clearance Knowledge with any SW languages (e.g. MATLAB, C++, Python, Java, etc.), and/or Educational background or experience with Radio Frequency (RF) or Electronic Warfare (EW) principles

Intern Pay Range

Bachelor’s: $18.75 to $34.50 per hour

Master’s: $27.00 to $42.50 per hour

At Northrop Grumman, our internship pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.

Primary Level Salary Range: $1.00 - $1.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
