PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER (Test Development)
The Person
As part of this team, you will have complete ownership in developing test programs for next-generation AMD microprocessors. You will work on internal AMD platforms and debug test infrastructure issues including test HW, test SW, diagnostics, and device-specific IP. You will be part of the Quality team that will develop test suites to be deployed in the field to test customer returns ensuring good test coverage, implementing new test methods while adhering to test compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Build test suites for CPU, GPU and Server products to be run on AMD test platforms Validate test suites and fix issues Accountable for driving test solution/development/coverage, optimization to meet business milestones: schedule, test time and cost Work with hardware engineering team to understand test platforms so the test suites will work properly Address gaps in test coverage by gathering feedback from customers and internal engineering team Collaborate with various engineering teams to determine System Level Test (SLT) coverage and implement these new test contents during Test Suite development Validate new product features, test conditions, test methodologies, and test contents Implement automation to improve test suite and make development efficient Support CQEs, OSV (On-Site Verification) operations on technical issues
Preferred Experience
Sound understanding of x86 architecture, CPU, GPU, APU Experience in BIOS, PCIe, Ethernet, Silicon Validation Programming and scripting experience using various programming languages (C, C++, Java, Ruby, Perl, Python) Technical knowledge in OS kernel, driver, BIOS firmware Proficient in Windows, Unix, and Linux operating systems Knowledgeable in version control tools (Git) Expertise in platform level analysis including both software and hardware Experience with production testing (ATE and System Level Testing) Good debugging skills, strong in design of experiments (DOEs) Strong foundation on semiconductors Effective communication and good interpersonal skills
