Role Summary The Manager of Quality Engineering will lead the strategy, execution, and automation of software quality assurance for the company’s enterprise suite. You will manage a team of 5+ QA engineers, transition the organization from manual-heavy processes to a "Quality as Code" culture, and oversee the validation of complex mobile (iOS/Android) and web applications. You will be a player-coach—capable of architecting an automation framework in the morning and presenting software release readiness to executive leadership in the afternoon.
Leadership & Strategy · Recruit, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of Software Quality Engineers and SDETs. · Define and execute a roadmap to transition from manual testing to >80% automated regression coverage for Web and Mobile platforms. · Partner with Product Management and DevOps to integrate automated quality gates into the CI/CD pipeline (Azure DevOps/AWS). · Establish key software quality metrics (Defect Escape Rate, Cycle Time, Code Coverage) and report progress to the CTO. Process & Change Management · Standardize best practices for test case management, defect tracking, and software release certification. · Own the Software Change Management process, ensuring zero-downtime deployments and rigorous rollback procedures for enterprise customers. · Collaborate with the Managed Services team to reproduce production software issues and drive "Root Cause Analysis" (RCA) loops back into engineering.
Required Qualifications · 7+ years in Software Quality Assurance/Engineering with at least 3+ years in a leadership or management role. · Hands-on experience building software automation frameworks from scratch using Java, Python, or C# (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar). · Proven track record of recruiting, hiring, and managing teams of 5+ engineers. · Strong understanding of SDLC in a SaaS environment, including extensive API testing (Postman/RestAssured) and Mobile testing (iOS/Android). · Deep understanding of Change Management, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps), and Agile/Scrum methodologies. · Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills—ability to translate technical complexity into business impact for executive and non-technical audiences · Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments with rapidly changing priorities and ambiguity
