Salary: $147,000 - $216,000 / year
Role & seniority: Data Center / Hardware R&D engineer (mid-to-senior level); support new product engineering in Google’s hardware R&D labs; 4+ years in relevant technical environments; advanced degrees preferred.
Stack/tools: System-level testbeds, lab infrastructure, software/hardware integration; Python or scripting language proficiency; knowledge of networks, protocols, and hardware/software systems (physical, functional, logical, mechanical, electrical, thermal); collaboration/communication tools.
Design, build, and maintain system-level testbeds and associated lab space, tools, and infrastructure.
Collaborate with teams to develop software and hardware systems and create methodologies/tools to support engineers.
Coordinate interactions between labs and engineering; anticipate and resolve design, manufacturing, and testing issues; provide implementation plans and guidance during deployment.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
At least 4 years of experience in a data center or networking operations environment.
Understanding of network design, protocols, and troubleshooting; broad knowledge of computer systems (physical/functional/logical/mechanical/electrical/software/thermal).
Ability to read/write code in Python or other scripting languages.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
