Job Summary
The Senior QA Lead coordinates planning, execution, and oversight of all testing activities to ensure quality safeguards are embedded throughout the software development lifecycle. This role leads quality assurance efforts across a large transformational initiative and partners closely with development, project management, business analysis, and line-of-business stakeholders.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving functional, integration, and regression testing while ensuring traceability, risk mitigation, and overall application health.
Key Responsibilities
QA Leadership & Oversight: Lead QA activities for a large transformational project and coordinate efforts across multiple QA teams. Provide direction, accountability, and visibility into all quality-related activities.
End-to-End Testing Management: Oversee quality across all phases of the project including requirements review, test planning, script development, execution, defect tracking, and recap reporting.
Functional, Integration & Regression Testing: Ensure comprehensive test coverage across functional workflows, integration points, and regression cycles. Guide exploratory testing efforts to close coverage gaps.
Traceability & Defect Management: Calculate and manage test traceability and coverage metrics. Lead defect triage sessions and ensure timely resolution of issues. Identify and escalate risks related to technical debt, schedule slippage, or workflow gaps.
Risk-Based Testing Strategy: Assess application functionality by risk, impact, and business importance to prioritize testing activities effectively.
Resource Planning & Forecasting: Estimate QA effort for project planning cycles, manage resource allocations, coordinate with shared services teams, and support governance tollgates.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with Technical Leads, Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Lines of Business stakeholders. Participate in grooming sessions, status meetings, and key project ceremonies.
Reporting & Communication: Report on overall application and project health, provide detailed status updates, and clearly communicate risks and remediation strategies to leadership.
Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, eliminate waste, and enhance efficiency. Automation experience or interest is a plus but not required.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience in quality assurance with demonstrated leadership responsibilities across complex enterprise projects.
Testing Expertise: Strong experience with functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing methodologies. Experience guiding teams to maximize test coverage and close automation gaps.
Traceability & Metrics: Proven ability to manage testing traceability, test coverage metrics, and quality reporting.
Risk & Domain Understanding: Ability to quickly understand application domains, release schedules, and user communities to effectively prioritize testing based on business impact.
Analytical & Communication Skills: Strong analytical skills to assess quality metrics, application health, and project risk. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across technical and business teams.
Leadership & Collaboration: Experience working across development, QA Shared Services, and Lines of Business. Ability to lead communications and coordinate testing efforts across multiple QA teams.
Additional Experience: Virtual Response Unit or Contact Center testing experience is a plus.
Compensation & Engagement Details
Contract engagement from March 9, 2026 through September 4, 2026. Competitive hourly compensation aligned with market rates. Onsite role based in Brooklyn, Ohio.
