This position is planned for various locations including Mannheim, Salzgitter, Kassel, Berlin, München.

We are looking for a Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer to join our railway engineering team. In this role, you will ensure that the systems meet design requirements, with special attention to CENELEC standards. You will work across the full V-model lifecycle, from defining test strategies to supporting on-site integration and certification activities, collaborating with safety, commissioning, and system engineering teams.

Your Tasks

• Define and implement the Project V&V strategy in line with CENELEC standards.
• Develop verification methods, test plans, and traceability from requirements to tests.
• Coordinate with Test & Commissioning teams for site activities.
• Perform and report on verification, integration, and test tasks on-site and in-house.
• Collaborate with the Safety Assurance Manager for safety-related deliverables.
• Apply standard processes, methodologies, and tools to support certification and validation.
• Specify, procure, and configure test assets and instrumentation.
• Provide data to maintain relevant KPIs and manage configuration/change control.

Your profile

• Master’s degree in engineering (systems, electrical, electronic, or similar).
• 2+ years of experience in V&V or system engineering in railway or other railway safety-critical domains.
• Solid knowledge of EN 50126 / EN 50128 / EN 50129 (and ideally EN 50657).
• Familiarity with at least one train system (e.g., TCMS, signaling, interlocking).
• Experience with requirements and test management tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarion, Jira).
• Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills with a customer-oriented mindset.
• Proactive, autonomous, and goal-oriented.
• Fluent in German and English.
