Position Summary
The Quality Engineer supports the manufacturing floor with quality issues, drives proactive quality planning, and monitors process capability and control.
What You Will Be Doing
Lead the development of Advanced Product Quality Planning activities including PFMEA's, Control Plans, and Measurement System Analysis
Develop inspection plans. Identify required instrumentation and gaging.
Develop process capability metrics for products and utilize statistical methods to develop and implement capability improvements
Determine sampling frequencies and quantities for inspection plans for manufactured and procured parts
Review First Article Inspection packages
Review procurement specifications, design specifications, fabrication procedures, maintenance work packages, and other documents for incorporation of appropriate quality controls
Review inspections for completeness and accuracy
Assist in implementation of nonconformance processing
Lead the investigation of escapes to determine root cause and corrective action
Utilize product and process knowledge to develop and implement process and management system improvement opportunities
Lead evaluation of test equipment and precision measuring instruments
Apply Lean principles to develop product, process, and manufacturing improvements

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a technical field

Familiarity with NQA-1, AS9100 or ISO9001 Quality Management Systems
