Simpson Thacher is looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Automation Engineer that will help our team establish Automation with various self-service and ITSM solutions. This role will work closely with the Firm’s technical leaders to identify and establish infrastructure automation, orchestration, as well as the Firm’s ITSM tools to establish a better and more robust automated workflow for a variety of offerings. The Senior Cloud Automation Engineer will establish configuration management, automate infrastructure, and implement continuous integration to create continuously deployable systems. This will help us build scalable, efficient ITSM plugins. This individual will implement monitoring for automated system health checks. Lastly, you will build our CI/CD pipelines. This is an excellent opportunity to begin working in a newly emerging practice in our Firm’s technology department. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities Manage/Improve ITSM automation service offerings. Implement, improve, and maintain monitoring and alerting. Build and maintain highly available systems. Implement and maintain monitoring stacks. Build and maintain highly available production systems. Provide direct and responsive support for urgent support needs. Translate loosely defined requirements into solutions. Use coding languages or scripting methodologies to solve a problem with a custom solution. Collaborate with others on the project to brainstorm about the best way to tackle a complex technological infrastructure, security, or development problem. Performs incremental testing actions on code, processes, and deployments to identify ways to streamline execution and minimize errors encountered. Education Required Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in lieu of formal education. Salary Information NY Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $180,000 at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
