About Origin
Origin (previously 10xConstruction) is building general-purpose autonomous robots for US construction to tackle rising costs, safety risks, and labour shortages. Our modular, multi-trade platform combines purpose-built hardware with real-time site intelligence to navigate complex environments and execute tasks with precision. Trained in high-fidelity simulation and already deployed on live sites, our robots deliver 5x faster execution, 250%+ margin expansion, and significant cost savings. Join India's most talent-dense robotics team consisting of individuals from IITs, Stanford, UCLA, etc.
About The Role -
As a Senior Engineer - Robotics Deployment and QA, you are the crucial bridge between our engineering lab and the chaotic reality of a construction site. You will own the validation of major robot subsystems (e.g., the mobile base, the robotic sanding tool). You will design aggressive test plans, push the hardware to its breaking point, and capture rich diagnostic data. When a bug occurs, you don't just log itβyou isolate the variables, find the reproducibility conditions, and provide the development team with a clear path to the fix.
Key Responsibilities
Design and execute statistically sound Design of Experiments (DOE) for both physical robot testing and simulated environments Develop aggressive edge-case testing scenarios that mimic the worst-case customer behaviors and construction site anomalies Setup, maintain, and calibrate complex physical test environments and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems
Take ownership of the bug reporting pipeline for your assigned subsystems. Triage incoming issues from field operations Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts. Dive deep into ROS logs, network traffic, and hardware telemetry to isolate whether a failure is a mechanical tolerance issue, an electrical brown-out, or a software race condition Define and document the exact steps for engineering teams to reproduce complex field bugs in the lab
Lead the technical deployment of robots at customer sites, ensuring the environment is mapped and the operators are trained Author and maintain the User Manuals, Maintenance Guides, and Troubleshooting Playbooks for the product
Requirements
Required Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science) 4-8 years of experience in system testing, QA, or field engineering for robotics or complex hardware Strong proficiency with Linux command line, SSH, and networking fundamentals Experience using Python or C++ to write automated test scripts or parse large data logs Familiarity with ROS/ROS 2 ecosystems and log analysis Ability to troubleshoot complex electromechanical systems using basic lab equipment (multimeters, basic hand tools)
Preferred Experiences
Experience operating heavy machinery or working on active construction sites Certification or formal training in Six Sigma, Reliability Engineering, or advanced DOEs
