Full Description
Automation Engineer requires the incumbent to design best possible solutions for the end-customer on a design platform based on best cost, price and ergonomic solutions from conceptual ideas until full completion of the machine. Acting as the link between Engineering, Sales, Project, Purchasing, Production and Aftersales departments.
Main Tasks Design detailed electrical circuits with proper calculations and design justification. Select and size electrical components according to project requirements, supported by engineering documentation. Prepare accurate and up-to-date electrical diagrams and BOMs within project timelines. Develop new control system architectures and machine control sequence flow charts as required. Develop and implement machine programs, including control, safety, and HMI systems. Plan and execute machine startup, testing, troubleshooting, and fine-tuning to meet FAT schedules. Support machine installation and commissioning at customer’s site. Update electrical diagrams, PLM data, and machine manuals after FAT; prepare installation guides for post-FAT work. Assist in presales activities such as URS reviews and budget estimations. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, and design/program databases. Provide technical support to Production and Aftersales teams on electrical and automation issues. Participate in cross-functional process improvement initiatives to promote business excellence. To assist on creating, enhancing and maintaining a pool of electrical design database and standard program database that could be used as when required for other projects. To carry out any other duties that maybe assigned to you by the manager from time to time.
Information Technology Windows OS and Microsoft 365. Proficient in using using ePLAN P8, Isagraf, AutomationStudio, SafeDesigner and MappView. Good understanding on PLM and ERP software on daily works.
Competences & Qualifications Degree in Electricals & Electronics Engineering or any related qualification with at least 5 years working experience in original equipment manufacturing or maintenance. Must be highly experienced in developing machine electrical panel and control system from conceptual ideas until full completion of machine with full aid of engineering calculations. Has good knowledge of electrical circuit design, design standards, techniques, procedures, simulation and standard components selection. Has good command of written & spoken English. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to read and understand electrical diagram and process flow chart. Knowledge of PLC programming such as ladder diagram, function block and etc. Self-motivated, creative and pro-active with good teamwork spirit.
