DESCRIPTION
The Maps Software Quality Engineer is responsible for collaborating closely with developers and other test engineers to thoroughly test all legacy and new Maps App features. Our team is responsible for creating test documents, executing and analyzing data, conducting bug triaging, leading testing procedures, and ensuring the successful development of new features. We collaborate with cross-functional development teams to ensure that our Maps organization delivers the highest quality application possible across all of Apple’s platforms. The individual filling this position should possess the ability to rapidly comprehend and distill highly intricate matters into concise and comprehensible solutions, delivering clearly documented test plans and strategies. They must be a proactive quality engineer with exceptional communication skills and a strong desire to excel in a challenging and dynamic environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Obsession over the customer experience. Possess knowledge and real-world
experience with software quality engineering: test planning and strategies, test case definitions, and problem analysis. Demonstrate strong analytical skills with an ability to identify, diagnose, regress and debug issues thoroughly. Ability to execute test cases; report clear, concise, and actionable results/data to various technical and functional teams. Triage automation results, report and escalate issues appropriately to the different cross-functional teams. Exceptional communication skills, comfortable collaborating with all levels of engineering, product, and testing teams across Apple to help with new feature development and validation. Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
