Job Details
Description
The AI Automation Engineer will serve as the credit union’s hands-on lead for intelligent automation and AI-enabled process improvement. This role is responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing automation solutions that reduce manual effort, increase operational efficiency, and modernize business processes across the organization.
This is a builder role, not a research or theoretical position. The successful candidate will work directly with business lines to eliminate repetitive, low-value work through automation, agentic AI, workflow optimization, and integration technologies, with the goal of freeing staff to focus on higher-value member service and strategic activities.
This role will wear multiple hats and play a foundational role in establishing future AI capabilities.
Duties & Responsibilities
Partner with business stakeholders to map current-state processes and identify inefficiencies. Quantify time savings, productivity gains, and operational impact of automation initiatives. Recommend process redesigns that eliminate unnecessary steps prior to automation.
Measurement & Value Realization
Ensure automations align with security, data privacy, compliance, and risk expectations. Work closely with Information Security, Risk, and Compliance teams to implement controls proportionate to risk. Document solutions to support audits and examinations.
Collaboration & Enablement
Serve as an internal consultant, advisor, and champion on automation and AI opportunities. Educate business teams on automation capabilities and limitations. Help establish standards, patterns, and best practices for future AI and automation efforts. Effectively communicate improvements to gain additional buy-in and momentum.
Preferred Skills
Experience in financial services, banking, or credit unions.
