A Test Automation Capability Lead is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive test automation strategy. This includes identifying and implementing the best tools and technologies, developing and maintaining test automation frameworks, and leading a team of automation testers. The role is typically very hands-on and requires a deep understanding of both testing and automation principles. The Test Automation Capability Lead, although based in a central team, must be able to work closely with developers, platform and product managers, and other stakeholders to understand the requirements and help develop test plans that effectively cover all aspects of the system under test, working with the automation testers across various ARTs and Programmes in the bank.
This role is a critically important one for the organisation in building the necessary Test Automation Capabilities within the delivery teams. By developing and executing a sound test automation strategy, the Test Automation Capability Lead can help to improve the quality of software, reduce the cost of testing, and accelerate the release of new products and features.
