Operational Coach - Breeding field testing operations, Kuenzing, Germany (all genders)
As an Operational Coach in Kuenzing, Germany, you will provide technical leadership on field testing operations, including field selection, planting, trait capture, and harvest. You will manage the field testing network and equipment portfolio from the home site, acting as the regional liaison for equipment deployment, digital phenotyping, and field sensors. Reporting to the West Field-Testing Sub Hub Lead, you will be part of the Field Testing team.
Your Tasks And Responsibilities
Enable the team to break silos, foster inclusive behavior, and collaboration to reach the team’s full potential Responsible for field testing site selection and field trial management to understand Genotype × Environment interactions for product evaluation in corn, winter oil seed rape and other field crops Operate research equipment like planters, tractors, combines, and sensing devices for testing purposes when needed Manage the field equipment portfolio and all associated maintenance, logistics, and fleeting activities Develop operational, maintenance, and calibration standards for field equipment and provide instruction and training Collaborate with other Operational Coaches to develop a platform of continuous learning and training of team members on equipment operations and develop plans for optimization Implement and ensure compliance with SSHE procedures for safe operation of field equipment Engage with EMEA region and Global implementation of digital farming technologies for research and development of new products Deploy and ideate future upcoming technologies, train and document information of new technologies deployed in the network Implement and ensure compliance with SSHE procedures for safe operation of field equipment in collaboration with site leads and HSE partners Create a culture of safety, quality, and compliance, leading by example
Who You Are
Master in Agronomy or related field with several years of agricultural research experience People leadership acumen and/or previous experience Solid background in agronomy and crop management Knowledge of statistics and experimental design/methods Advanced computer proficiency (MS Office, BI software) Excellent results orientation and planning skills Strong interpersonal and relationship skills Willingness to travel (approx. 50%) including overnight and week-trips Knowledge in data science and coding (Python, R) is a plus Professional fluency in English written and spoken as well as good German skills
