Testing and Operation Manager
Active involvement with Product and/or Technical Units to drive the unit outcomes in alignment with evaluate mission team tasks.
Executing complex field trials across crops and multiple sites to deliver high-quality data to enable accurate and timely decisions in the advancement of products through the pre-commercial and breeding pipelines. Ensure field testing innovation strategy and plans in place to enable and advance data science driven Precision Breeding.
Support activities of Asia field testing program - all activities related to trials - field selection, grower management, field plot management, data collection, mechanisation, digital tool and technologies contributing to highest data quality. Responsible for implementation of product characterization strategy and Implementation of field testing (FT) operations and support services to deliver product pipelines in alignment with global and regional FT strategy. Execute field testing activities as per aligned trial plan - Trials, Data capture and Data return etc through mechanisation and automation, contributing to efficient data driven advancement decisions. Deliver the highest data quality through the work of the employees in the organization with the use of new technology and processes. Strategically implement new technologies that drive a step-change in Breeding phenotyping, planting and harvesting processes through a partnership with automated engineering, IT, data science, and external vendors. Utilization of research equipment such as planters, combines and handheld digital devices for note taking. Assist in computer related activities and provide support for testing activities such as operation of shelling systems, seed counters and seed pack. Responsible for all day-to-day operations of the testing program and the general operations of a multi-location testing program. Support in effective administration of testing responsibility, including temporary/contract employee hiring, development, training and retention; budget management; and care of assets. Kaging overnight travel during the planting and harvest season is possible, wherever needed. Several 2-3 days of travel for training and other meetings are likely during the year. Implementation and ensuring compliance of company/functional polices on Environment, Safety and Health, Quality Management Systems and stewardship across testing locations.
Active member of India FT Hub, Asia Breeding Work towards accomplishing the IBSL Corn/ Asia Rice/ Technical unit outcomes Engage and partner on need based strategic and/or operational projects with Product Units, Commercial, Seed Operations, EDS, and other technological functions, IT, and Climate team
MS in Agriculture or related field of study with 5+ years of significant people and project management experience in an agricultural-related research position. Relevant field experience in trailing Corn and Rice crops. Innovative and Digital acumen for advancing Precision Breeding imperatives. Advanced computer skills and excellent knowledge of software related to data acquisition and analysis.
