Software Test Lead
Greenfield Transformation Project | Melbourne, VIC
The Opportunity
Due to significant business growth, Kinetic are currently embarking on a large-scale global transformation program and looking for an experienced Test Lead with experience in implementing and integrating new products into a business environment.
This is an initial fixed term full-time contract for 12 months, however due to the scale of our transformation program will likely extend.
Key Accountabilities
Lead the creation of test strategies, scenarios, and detailed test cases based on project scope, business requirements, and design documentation, using tools such as Azure DevOps or JIRA X Ray. Oversee and perform end-to-end test execution, ensuring accurate logging of results and defects, prioritising issues, and coordinating defect triage and retesting through to resolution. Provide leadership and quality guidance to cross-functional teams, ensuring testing activities are aligned with project timelines, development practices, and quality standards throughout the software delivery lifecycle. Coordinate and manage testing activities with third-party vendors or development partners, ensuring outcomes comply with design specifications, contractual obligations, and governance processes. Apply and promote strong testing principles, methodologies, and best practices, ensuring consistent adoption across the testing team and project stakeholders. Support and guide business users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by preparing test assets, facilitating defect management, and ensuring results accurately reflect business expectations. Lead the testing effort across small to large-scale Payroll Solution initiatives, including complex software development projects, system upgrades, and migration activities, ensuring quality deliverables and successful implementation.
What You Will Bring
Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in system testing. Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating testing activities across different testing methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, V-Model), with a strong understanding of end to-end testing processes and best practices. Experience in obtaining business requirements from users and conducting testing execution and testing documentation/artefacts Industry experience in the transport sector is highly regarded but not essential. ISTQB or similar testing certification is a plus.
