Role & seniority: Quality Engineer, mid‑level (2+ years in testing/automation)
Stack/tools: Java, TestNG, Selenium WebDriver; GitHub Actions; IDEs (IntelliJ, etc.); Maven; GIT; Postman; SoapUI; databases; CI/CD practices
Assess product quality delivered by cross‑functional teams
Analyze acceptance criteria to define test scope; plan, prepare, and execute functional and automated tests
Identify defects and demonstrate quality; determine when to automate vs. manual testing
University graduate or equivalent; 2+ years in test automation or development with demonstrable manual testing
Experience applying testing techniques (context-driven, risk-based) and full test life cycle
Strong written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
SAFe/Scaled Agile experience; customer-focused mindset
Hands-on automation coding in Java (TestNG, Selenium) and use of GitHub Actions; familiarity with IDEs, Maven, GIT, Postman/SoapUI, databases, and CI/CD
Deeper SAFe experience; broader DevOps practices; additional programming languages or tooling
Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability to new ways of working
Location & work type: New Zealand; full-time permanent role with flexible working options; salary range NZD 90,039–120,052 plus 9% superannuation

About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join us in the Technical Delivery and Quality department to deliver high quality test outcomes.
The Quality Engineer role is responsible for assessing the quality of products delivered by cross-functional teams. This includes analysis of acceptance criteria to determine the scope of testing, preparation and execution of tests - both functional and automated - to demonstrate quality and identify defects.
About you | Mōu
We are looking for someone who is equally capable and enthusiastic about writing and performing manual functional tests and automating tests. You will be able to use automated testing to accelerate functional validation of a story, determine when to automate and when not to and be able to articulate why.
You can determine if we are building the thing right, but more importantly are we building the right thing.
