Job Overview
Sustainiam is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer (Manual Testing) to ensure the reliability, functionality, and performance of our web and mobile applications. As a QA Engineer, you will play a crucial role in identifying defects early, maintaining high software quality, and collaborating closely with product, design, and development teams. Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Strategy
Collaborate with product and development teams to understand project requirements and acceptance criteria. Develop clear and detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on functional specifications and user stories.
Manual Testing Execution
Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) across multiple platforms and devices. Document and track defects meticulously, ensuring they are communicated effectively and retested once resolved.
Quality Assurance
Maintain a keen eye for detail to find potential quality issues early in the software development lifecycle. Conduct exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and ensure comprehensive coverage.
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with cross-functional teams (Design, Product, Development) to clarify requirements and resolve issues. Provide timely updates on testing progress, identified issues, and risk areas. Participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to stay aligned with team objectives.
Documentation & Reporting
Record clear, concise, and thorough bug reports, ensuring reproducibility. Create and maintain test documentation, such as test scripts and release notes, in alignment with project guidelines.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
Manual Testing Expertise: Proven experience in manual testing of web and/or mobile applications, with a strong understanding of testing methodologies (smoke, functional, regression, exploratory, UAT).
Bug Tracking Tools: Hands-on experience with bug tracking and test management tools like Jira, Trello, Github.
Understanding of SDLC/STLC: Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC) in Agile or Scrum environments.
Basic API Testing Knowledge: Ability to perform basic API testing using tools like Postman (preferred). Well-versed in Generative AI tools.
Soft Skills
Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to identifying defects and inconsistencies in applications.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly document and discuss issues with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and propose resolutions for discovered issues.

Educational Background
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Work Experience

Exposure to MERN stack based experience on some basic past projects. Exposure to Automation Testing tools or frameworks (e.g., Jest, Playwright). Familiarity with API Testing in more depth.
