Identify root causes of downtime on automation equipment and implement fixes

What To Expect The Automation Controls Technicians within the Optimus robotics team will work alongside production, maintenance, and engineering to support automated equipment used in various component production. You’ll be using electrical engineering theory and programmable logic software to root cause and fix issues that cause equipment downtime. You will support hands-on robot builds and responsibilities around machine performance, analysis, testing, and documentation. Projects will include uptime improvements, new station deployments, and retools. The successful candidate for this position must have a broad background in Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Maintenance, and Testing. Must be a self-starter and work independently as well as in team environments.
What You'll Do
Work with maintenance and engineers to identify root cause to downtime on automation equipment that uses testers, PLCs, and six axis robots Execute engineering changes and document machine performance based on changes Collaborate with Engineering teams to address PLC bugs and repetitive downtimes, providing clear and concise reports through pass-down communications Maintain exceptional change control discipline in a rapidly evolving product and manufacturing environment Manage SCADA projects and HMIs to help operators and maintenance with their work flow Validate machine repairs by using machine data Manage documentation used for production and maintenance to work on machines
What You'll Bring
2+ years of experience as an engineering or maintenance technician in the fields of: Robotics, Automative Service, precision medical devices, R&D, and Manufacturing with a demonstrated history of analytical problem solving and failure analysis Previous hands-on experience with power tools, high and low voltage systems, wire harness repair Working knowledge of PLCs – Siemens, Rockwell, Beckhoff Ability to read electrical schematics and EPLAN Experience with EtherCAT and CAN communication is a plus

Expected Compensation
$30.50 - $44.84/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
