General Context They are likely looking for a full time engineer for a 1 year term, but the budget/duration is being confirmed. This is more of a staff aug type position where they need an additional LoadRunner resource who is helping them work down their back-log and support new internal customer project demands for performance testing of apps (COTs and homegrown). This resource will be heavily grinding on script enhancements and new script writing. They require someone with solid experience and doesn’t have to learn/research on-the-job here.
Key Responsibilities · Create, configure and execute performance test scripts within LoadRunner / jMeter (HEAVY SCRIPTING EXPECTATIONS!!! NEEDS RECENT EXPERIENCE, CAN’T BE A FEW YEARS AGO) · Collaborate with Application Architects and Product Owners to define and design specific performance test scenarios and key outcomes · Execute the various performance tests including Load, Stress, Endurance, and capacity tests · Capture and analyze performance test metrics · Review test results captured from load runner and monitoring tool, support the identification of performance issues and make recommendations to stakeholders Skills/Qualifications Required
· Performance Script Development: Extensive Experience developing test scripts using vuGen and jMeter for multiple protocols, including HTTP, SAP, SOAP etc
· Performance Testing Tools: Experience with performance testing tools including LoadRunner Enterprise (must have), Apache JMeter
· Testing and Evaluation: Extensive experience planning and executing large performance tests of various types, conducting analysis, and reporting on these tests to stakeholders.
· Technical Expertise: Demonstrate strong knowledge in one or more programming languages (e.g., C (must have), Python, Perl, ABAP, Java, C++) Other Key Skills · Needs to be comfortable with Microsoft environments and familiarity with Teams · Experience with Agile practices and rituals (writing stories, etc.) · Experience documenting in Confluence
Preferred · Experience with JIRA / Agile methodologies · Dynatrace and Splunk integration with LoadRunner Personality · Softer temperament · Humble and collaborative · Communicative and good with proactive communications
Additional Color/Commentary (captured from discussion with customer) · Team with LMCO team members who will essentially be running front to then align on/understand the requirements that can then be translated to Loadrunner scripts · Participate in and support working sessions, troubleshoot script failures, communicate the why/how, drive towards resolution collaboratively · Authentication is a challenge so understanding how to troubleshoot different types of authentication mechanisms (LDAP, SAML, SSO, etc.) and · Experience working with AWS and Azure · Diversity of apps, COTs, SaaS, homegrown · Infra monitoring – primarily Splunk and Dynatrace (experience with Loadrunner integration with these solutions) – use these solutions today to help with workload identification of apps deployed in production to help inform testing loads · In depth knowledge of performance center infrastructure (e.g. running out of memory identification) for troubleshooting (not always assuming it’s the app) · Very proficient in scripting to address infrastructure shortfalls if/when needed · Well versed in correlation and parameters that return – voluminous content and being able to narrow it down · Culture – team player, open minded, don’t expect someone to have all the answers, humble, adaptation · Up-to-date certifications nice-to-have, but advantageous because looking for someone who is fresher on the solution and knows Loadrunner capabilities and can make recommendations for improvements
