Top 3 responsibilities

Oversee the QMS, maintain AS9100 certification, and ensure regulatory/commercial alignment

Lead quality initiatives to improve product integrity and reduce COPQ; serve as liaison among internal teams, customers, and regulatory agencies

Translate system/contract requirements into compliant product, assembly, and test documentation; review/approve first article inspections

Full Description
MUST BE A US CITIZEN (ITAR REQUIREMENT). Support a Fortune 500 Aero-Defense Company as a AS9100 Quality Assurance Manager.
In this role, you’ll oversee all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS), maintain AS9100 certification, and serve as a key liaison between internal teams, customers, and regulatory agencies. You’ll own initiatives that enhance product integrity, reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), and strengthen our reputation for excellence.
Education/Experience Needed
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Qualifications We Prefer

Prior AS9100 quality management experience

Demonstrated ability to build trust and collaborate across departments to align quality initiatives with business goals

Proven experience managing and developing teams, with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and fostering career growth

Experience translating system and contractual requirements to ensure full compliance is flowed down through product, assembly, and test documentation

Experience in generation, review, and approval of first article inspection reports in accordance with AS9102

Proficient in blueprint reading and application of GD&T

Experience achieving/maintaining NADCAP accreditation for special processes such as brazing, heat treat, and paint

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams and with regulatory agencies

Experience Reviewing Statement of Work (SOW), Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR), Knowledge of Purchase Order Quality Requirements (Q-Notes, STAMP)

Experience facilitating cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g. 6-sigma, lean manufacturing)
