Your role

As an Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in bringing our machines to life from concept to commissioning. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams and customers to deliver robust, high-quality automation solutions — not just maintaining existing code, but designing, building, and validating control systems end-to-end.

Responsabilities

• Take ownership of the functional performance of our machines, collaborating with internal departments and external partners
• Develop PLC / HMI / Motion / Safety programs from scratch, through testing, commissioning, and optimization
• Create clear functional descriptions and maintain accurate technical documentation
• Program and test machines in our workshop, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards
• Cooperate with the Electrical Engineering team on new machine developments and continuous improvements
• Support the start-up and commissioning of machines in production and at customer sites
• Occasionally travel to customers to optimize start-up and resolve complex technical challenges in the field
• Prepare user and start-up manuals to ensure smooth handover
• Provide after-sales technical support, both remotely and on site when required

Your profile

• You are a senior-level automation professional with strong hands-on experience and a deep understanding of industrial machine control.

Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent extensive practical experience 5+ years of work experience with PLC Programming Willingness to commute to this job’s location Several years of experience in industrial automation or machine building projects, preferably in a senior or lead role Proven experience in PLC development from start to finish (architecture, programming, testing, commissioning) — not only maintenance of existing programs Strong knowledge of PLC programming; experience with Omron and/or Siemens is a major advantage Solid understanding of machine directives and functional safety Analytical and structured, with a strong problem-solving mindset Hands-on, autonomous, and confident in taking technical ownership Comfortable working both independently and in a team environment Able to perform under pressure and respect project deadlines Good command of English (spoken and written) Willing to travel occasionally for international customer interventions Commute to this job’s location
