Role & seniority: Full-Time Insurance Verifier (mid-level administrative/clinical support)
Stack/tools: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; general office equipment; PC software; medical terminology knowledge
Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations for inpatient, observation, and pre-scheduled procedures
Notify case management of changes/requests via fax; communicate with internal departments, providers, plans, patients
Calculate patient liability and forward estimates to Financial Counselor; support PAS, PAC, and Centralized Scheduling leadership
High school diploma or equivalent; 1–2 years of experience in patient registration or insurance verification
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to use 10-key and standard office software
Medical terminology knowledge; ability to discuss financial obligations with patients; CA driver’s license
Knowledge of insurance benefits, billing, and government/commercial programs; ability to meet productivity KPIs
CHAA certification; familiarity with Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, Title 22
Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
