Role & seniority: Video Hardware Design Verification Lead Engineer (mid-senior to senior) within AMD’s Radeon Technologies Group.
Stack/tools: Digital design (Verilog RTL); SystemVerilog, UVM; verification/testbenches; simulation tools (e.g., VCS); end-to-end HW verification; familiarity with video codecs and media processing pipelines.
Develop and execute comprehensive verification plans and testbenches for video decode/encode blocks (JPEG, AVC, HEVC, VP9, AV1) and drive full coverage of the video HW IP.
Lead the verification team, coordinate planning through closure, debug simulation testcases, and ensure high-quality verification coverage and timely delivery.
Collaborate with design, firmware, and software teams; automate tasks; document plans, results, and coverage; extend stimulus, checkers, and verification environments.
Undergrad degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering (Bachelors or Masters preferred).
Experience with digital design (Verilog RTL) and verification using SystemVerilog, UVM, and simulation tools (e.g., VCS).
Ability to debug video hardware and analyze video waveform outputs; strong knowledge of video codecs (JPEG, AVC, HEVC, VP9, AV1) and video processing concepts.
Prior leadership/coordination of a verification team; experience with automating verification tasks and tool development; experience with end-to-end video processing pipelines.
