The Role

As a member of the Radeon Technologies Group, you will help bring to life cutting-edge designs. This Video Hardware Design Verification Lead engineer leads the verification effort of a video codec (decode & encode) hardware IP design, managing a team of verification engineers and coordinating the verification process from planning through closure. This role is responsible to drive the verification strategy, managing resources, and ensuring high quality verification coverage of the video codec HW IP. This will enable timely delivery of high-quality, verified hardware IP designs to SoC projects at AMD. You will work

The Person

A successful candidate will work closely with the HW architects & HW designers, and Firmware developers to achieve first pass silicon success. The candidate will be highly accurate and detail-oriented, possessing great communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsiblities

Develop comprehensive verification plans and testbenches for video processing hardware blocks for video decode & encode (JPEG, AVC, HEVC, VP9, AV1). Execute these verification plans and collaborate to debug simulation testcases so they function correctly and pass on the HW design blocks & complete end-to-end HW solution Drive team to achieve complete verification coverage of all blocks in the video HW IP design Use verification methodologies (UVM) to build & extend test environments tailored for video codec & video pre-processing/post-processing applications Develop & extend video codec verification stimuli & checkers to thoroughly test video codec HW Collaborate with design, firmware, and software teams to debug issues related to video codec processing. Automate verification tasks and contribute to verification tool development for video hardware. Document verification plans, test results, and coverage reports.

Preferred Experience

Experience with digital design (verilog RTL) and verification using SystemVerilog, UVM, and simulation tools (VCS) Proficiency in debugging video hardware and analyzing video waveform outputs. Strong knowledge of video codecs (JPEG, AVC, HEVC, VP9, AV1) & video processing concepts

Academic Credentials

Undergrad degree required. Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred
