Job Summary

As a Wiring Harness Test and Process Engineer, you will have the unique opportunity to direct and contribute to the concept and development of wiring harness assemblies and components ranging from low voltage connectors and wires used in communication to high voltage connectors used for power management and charging systems.

The Wiring Harness Components team is responsible for end-to-end design and development of components for multiple Caterpillar applications. You will have the opportunity to strengthening your simulation skills, analytical skills, and mastery of mechanical and electrical engineering concepts associated with wiring harnesses.

You will be responsible for the development and improvement of wiring harness build processes in our prototype harness lab and for wiring harness component test and development. You will have the opportunity to lead and work with a highly experienced team of engineers having significant experience across Caterpillar machine, engine and electrification applications.

What You Will Do

Owner of Testing Operations Monitor and Improve Harness Build Processes Ensure quality systems are developed and adhered to in the section. Implement and improve test procedures and process Work closely with a harness production team to document pain points and lead teams to resolve production issues Coordinate lab creation and capability efforts.

What Skills You Will Have

Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

Mechanical Engineering - MFG: Knowledge of mechanical engineering processes, techniques and methods; ability to design and implement machines and other mechanical devices that safely realize a desired objective or invention.

Education Requirement

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering

Additional Information

The location for this position is Mossville, IL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Any relocation costs incurred would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

Summary Pay Range

$95,640.00 - $143,520.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
