Role & seniority: Quality Engineering Intern (internship; entry-level student role)
Stack/tools: Quality engineering methods (Six Sigma, Lean, SPC); Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel/macros, Visual Basic); basic engineering drawing interpretation; database orientation; measurement equipment knowledge a plus (calipers, micrometers, height gauges)

The Quality Engineering Intern will develop and implement quality data collection systems aimed at enhancing product quality and customer satisfaction. This role will focus on root cause and corrective action (RCCA) initiatives to reduce customer complaints, improve first pass yield (FPY), and minimize scrap.

*** Create a Quality Data Collection System:** Design and implement a system for collecting and analyzing quality data to support continuous improvement efforts.
*** Problem-Solving Support:** Assisting in root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) planning for non-conformances and quality issues.
*** Enhance First Pass Yield (FPY):** Participate in RCCA initiatives aimed at improving first pass yield by analyzing production processes and recommending improvements.
*** Minimize Scrap Generation:** Work on RCCA efforts to identify sources of scrap and develop strategies to reduce waste in the production process.
*** Learning Quality Tools:** Gaining familiarity with quality engineering tools and methodologies, such as Six Sigma, Lean, and statistical process control (SPC).
