Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician
Job Description
In this role, you will be programming and operating a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) using PCDMIS software. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for inspecting and working closely with the machine shop. You will have the opportunity to be involved in control plans, capability studies, and new product development, and will also handle tasks related to calibration and measuring with calipers.
Responsibilities
Utilize engineering drawings, specifications, Bill of Materials (BOMs), or other documents to develop, document, and execute inspection requirements of materials, parts, assemblies, or systems to support the Machine Shop. Create fixtures and CMM programs to support inspection requirements. Train production personnel to execute inspection requirements. Document and communicate inspection results. Utilize the ERP system to maintain accurate and timely Production and Quality records. Assist in problem-solving of non-conforming parts or assemblies. Engage with Engineering and Purchasing to improve part quality or as part of a product development team. Recommend, requisition, and manage the calibration of inspection gages.
Essential Skills
3 years of experience operating and programming a CMM from scratch and editing. 3 years of quality tech experience. 3 years of experience working within an engineering environment. Basic knowledge of GD&T.

Work Environment
The quality department consists of 5 people, some of whom have been acquired from engineering. This role is based in the second building, where you will work closely with the machine shop. You will need to communicate and coach team members effectively when there are quality issues. The work schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts from 6am to 3:30pm. The environment is not large, so you won't get lost in the crowd and can make a significant impact daily. The team is cohesive, and the company has a family-oriented culture, making exciting products like robots and vehicles that detect cracks in pipes.
