SUMMARY Join a hands-on quality team where you’ll translate engineering intent into reliable, compliant product. You’ll own inspection planning, elevate dimensional verification, and lead root-cause and corrective action efforts across a precision manufacturing environment—perfect for someone who loves GD&T, metrology, and closing the loop between design and production.
RESPONSIBILITIES Review and interpret complex drawings/models; convert GD&T into practical inspection methods and gauges. Create and maintain inspection plans, including First Article Inspection (FAI) reporting to industry standards. Perform dimensional inspections with precision tools (calipers, micrometers, height gages); collaborate on CMM programs and assist with programming when needed. Lead RCCM activities—containment, root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions—and verify effectiveness. Support APQP/PPAP deliverables (risk analyses, control plans) to ensure process capability prior to release. Develop alternate inspection frequency plans aligned with applicable standards to improve flow while safeguarding quality. Partner with production, engineering, and suppliers to resolve non-conformances and drive continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS Strong command of GD&T with the ability to build efficient inspection strategies. Proven experience reading/understanding detailed engineering drawings in a manufacturing setting. Hands-on use of precision measuring instruments; exposure to CMM operation or programming is a plus. Working knowledge of First Article Inspection requirements (e.g., AS9012 or equivalent) and FAI documentation. Familiarity with developing inspection frequency plans (e.g., AS13002 principles or equivalent). Experience with APQP and/or PPAP methodologies. Demonstrated ability to drive RCCM with measurable, sustained results. Comfortable with common office/quality software; ERP/MES exposure helpful. High attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
