Role & seniority: Engineering Technician, mid-level (Test & Validation) within Williams Racing; scope includes hands-on testing, rig setup, and mentoring Technicians/Apprentices.
Stack/tools: HiL transmission and VTT dyno; brake dyno; eight-post rig; test rigs for fuel, cooling, and structures; instrumentation, actuators, data acquisition; software/hardware tools including Instron, Servotest, Cats3, MATLAB, HBM, Catman, Atlas, Mistras AE, GOM Aramis, NX, Team Centre, VBA, Williams NI.
Set up, operate, and support tests on vehicle components/sub-assemblies; ensure control software and data systems are calibrated.
Maintain test rigs and perform routine preventive maintenance; contribute to safety and quality of deliverables; write/adhere to SOPs.
Provide on-task guidance to Technicians/Apprentices; collaborate with Test Engineers to develop test capability and ensure data integrity and reporting.
Extensive practical engineering experience in vehicle/powertrain testing and test-rig operation
Proficiency with instrumentation, data acquisition, and calibration
Ability to interpret test data, diagnose root causes, and uphold safety and quality standards
Experience in R&D/testing environments (preferably Formula One)
Practical knowledge of relevant hardware/software tools listed above
Previous supervisory/technical leadership experience
Qualifications at Level 5 (or Level 3

Job Description As an Engineering Technician within the Test and Validation department, you will use your practical, hands-on skills and expertise to set-up and operates our rigs, executing tests on a wide range of car components and assemblies. You will support the calibration and maintenance of our test capability and provide first line of support to keep our rigs operating. You will help to support and develop Technicians and Apprentices, by providing on-task guidance.
