Role & seniority: Senior Software Engineer (SDET) in Reddit’s Test Engineering / Quality Engineering organization
Stack/tools: Android development (Kotlin), automated testing (Espresso, UIAutomator), test frameworks/tools/services, CI/CD, familiarity with unit/integration/E2E testing; JetPack Compose preferred
Build and evolve test automation frameworks, tools, and services; influence unit/integration/end-to-end testing across teams
Analyze production issues, identify test gaps, and drive systemic improvements to automated testing; maintain test infrastructure in non-production environments
Participate in troubleshooting with multiple teams to root cause and resolve quality issues; help establish quality standards across development pipelines
5+ years as an SDET or Software Engineer for Android
3+ years Android development experience
Experience designing/building scalable automated test frameworks for mobile apps; writing/executing/monitoring automated test suites (Espresso, UIAutomator) using Kotlin
Experience with unit, snapshot, and end-to-end testing; strong CI/CD and QA methodology knowledge
JetPack Compose experience
Prior work building tests for native mobile apps and maintaining test infrastructure
