Role & seniority: Senior Software Engineer / SDET in Reddit’s Test Engineering (Quality Engineering) organization
Stack/tools: Android development (Kotlin), automated testing (Espresso, UIAutomator), CI/CD, test frameworks/tools for mobile apps; JetPack Compose (preferred)
Design, develop, and evolve mobile test automation frameworks, tools, and services
Analyze production issues, identify test gaps, and drive systemic automated testing improvements
Maintain test infrastructure in non-production environments and influence testing across unit, integration, and end-to-end levels
5+ years as an SDET or Software Engineer on Android; 3+ years Android development
Experience building scalable automated test frameworks/tools for mobile apps
Proficient in automated test suites using Kotlin with Espresso and/or UIAutomator
Experience with unit, snapshot, and end-to-end testing; strong CI/CD and QA methodologies for mobile releases
Strong written and verbal English communication
JetPack Compose experience
Native mobile test framework development beyond general mobile QA
