Role & seniority: Test Engineer (interdisciplinary hardware/software test development). Level likely mid-level to senior depending on experience; supports multiple program life-cycle phases.
Stack / tools: hardware/software integration; requirements derivation and allocation; test planning/design; Windows and/or Unix; DOORS, JIRA, MagicDraw (or equivalents); Microsoft Office suite.
Design, develop, and execute tests for hardware, software, and systems; create test plans, test cases, and defect tracking; ensure product meets specs before launch.
Test planning and design, defining scope/objectives/resources; write and maintain test scripts for functional, performance, security tests; manage controlled testing environments.
Defect management and collaboration with developers, process engineers, and management; report results and present work products to internal/external stakeholders.
2+ years of project leadership experience; hardware/software integration or requirements derivation/allocation; lifecycle test engineering tasks (requirements analysis, validation planning, verification, risk management).
Strong written/presentation skills; experience with Windows/Unix; proficiency with DOORS, JIRA, MagicDraw (or equivalents); MS Office.
Ability to travel up to 25%; active Secret clearance preferred (Secret eligibility required); BS/MS in engineering (software, electrical, mechanical, systems, or related).

About This Role

We are seeking highly skilled Test Engineers to join our dynamic engineering team. This is an interdisciplinary role, enabling the full life cycle development of our products. This role may include supporting development of new products and product upgrades, payload design, integration and test, and development of fielding solutions for our military and commercial customers. Required experience includes hardware and/or software integration, managing requirements derivation and allocation, and successfully working within a collaborative team environment. A desire to take ownership of design efforts to ensure integration of new technology into our vehicles is essential.
Responsible for design, development, and execution of tests for products (hardware, software, systems) to ensure quality, functionality, and reliability, creating test plans, writing test cases, identifying defects, and collaborating with development teams for fixes, ultimately ensuring products meet specifications and user needs before launch
Test Planning & Design: Understand requirements, define scope, objectives, and resources, then create detailed test plans, strategies, and procedures
Test Case Development: Write specific test cases and scripts for various tests (functional, performance, security, etc.).
Test Execution: Run tests, monitor the development and production process, and manage controlled testing environments.
Defect Management: Identify, document (using bug trackers), report, and track software/hardware and product defects.
Collaboration & Feedback: Work with developers, process engineers, and management to provide insights, suggest improvements, and ensure quality standards are met.
Reporting: Analyze results, document findings, Preparing and presenting Test engineering work products to internal review teams and external customers at program milestone reviews. Interact daily with technical leads, program managers, planners, technicians, and other engineers. Driving tasks to completion independently – aided by appropriate supervision and mentoring. Collaborating with others within the workgroup, with other departments, and the customer.
Qualifications
2 years demonstrated project leadership experience preferred Experience with hardware and/or software integration, managing requirements derivation and allocation, or architecture design Testing and integrating new technology into our family of Ground Vehicle products throughout the lifecycle of the program. Executing test engineering tasks – including (but not limited to) requirements analysis, design review support, formal validation planning, test, verification, risk management, and engineering analysis. Preparing and presenting test engineering work products – including (but not limited to) test plans, procedures, and reports to internal review teams and external customers. Interacting daily with varying US Government customers, commercial customers, program managers, planners, and technicians. Experience with Windows and/or Unix operating systems is a plus Effective and efficient writing and presentation skills Experience with DOORS, JIRA, and MagicDraw (or equivalent) is strongly preferred. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) Ability to travel up to 25% Active Secret Clearance preferred; Secret eligibility required Driving tasks to completion independently.
