The Role We are looking for a Principal Quality Assurance Engineer and we BET you have what it takes, to join us! As a Quality Engineer, you set out to analyse and understand our products and the continuous change that they go through. You will be supporting teams to understand what quality should look like and how to improve it in their products with a customer first mindset. Your responsibilities primarily revolve around ensuring the quality, reliability, and efficiency of software products or systems. What You’ll Be Doing As a Principal Quality Assurance Engineer, you: Will influence the quality strategy/approach of a group or domain, partnering with Directors/senior leadership to ensure the health of the products, and teams, as a whole and influence the overall quality strategy and direction. Proactively find ways to push boundaries and create opportunities to provide autonomy and accountability to teams. Are an expert on product and platform development. Provide the technical expertise to help on the quality and test strategy definition for your domain, across different initiatives. Are comfortable with influencing product scope and decisions, while identifying the right technical trade-offs to deliver customer value quickly with high quality. Will be working with stakeholders to identify new opportunities unlocked by test capabilities. Will be focused on defining your Domain’s Test strategy, along with the teams’ QAs Will be improving our ability to test efficiently as well as enhancing the product and customer experience, while collaborating with, and supporting the Product & Engineering teams. Will lead the automation strategy design and implementation of your project, so you must have a proven track record of software testing, automated processes, frameworks, pipelines and environments’ configurations, etc. Will be working with Engineering Managers, QAs, Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Senior Engineering Managers and other Principals to make sure we’re following FanDuel’s Tech Strategy while aligning with your Domain’s needs, and you will be accountable for defining Quality metrics and reporting on them accordingly. Will represent the FanDuel principles, leading by example, breaking down silos across the different functions and promoting cross-functional relationships, while having a ‘challenge, then commit’ mindset. What You’ll Bring Passionate for building a great consumer product that our customers will love Proven-track record as an effective Quality Engineer in complex software development projects. Demonstrated experience of both manual and automated testing, and different test levels. Experience writing/maintaining test automation and test scripts Experience in creating mock services, testing frameworks, etc. Experience supporting developers in writing better test automation. Experience mentoring and coaching other team members on software testing best practices Experience in building and maintaining test environments, pipelines and CI/CD frameworks. Working knowledge of a development language such as Java, JS and Python Demonstrated experience of testing in service-oriented architectures and understanding data flow through such systems Experience taking on complex technical concepts and information relatively quickly in most contexts and providing immediate advice on effective courses of action. Expertise demonstrating & illustrating an understanding of solution architecture including system design, data design and data flow. Experience in creating test strategies and defining quality metrics, while also reporting on them. Experience in testing at API layers (e.g. REST) Familiarity with test-driven development techniques (e.g. BDD and ATDD) Experience working with version control systems such as Git Understanding of build and configuration tools such as Jenkins, Puppet, CHEF and Ansible.
