Context
Our business division: Project Operations Business Division (POP) - Projects Department – System & Automation Projects - covers procurement and service projects such as industrial furnaces procurement, modularized unit study and procurement and specialized equipment procurement. Among these last items we provide complex control system for managing very specific sequence of field operation at a high level of availability. Our control systems rely on high availability PLCs such as SIEMENS S7-400 of Rockwell ControlLogix L8x series for the interface with the field instrument and sequence management. Supervision software is done either on existing SCADA solution from the PLC manufacturer or on an inhouse solution. The internship will cover a part of a task that consisting in getting ride of this inhouse solution and switch to an existing SCADA solution. Indeed, the inhouse solution has been developed and maintained for decades to fit a very specific usage that was not possible since them. But with the high capability of current PLC and SCADA software the cost of maintaining such inhouse software does not make sense anymore. When the trainee will join the project, it is expected that some tasks has already been initiated. In that case, the trainee will continue the job and perform it as much as possible during the internship. It is possible that the whole project cannot be covered within the 6 months. Trainee will be mentored by an experience Automation Engineer in our team of 6 project managers/engineers.

o What are the functionalities we need that are not available in the short-listed solutions? Summarize the existing and required functions and find its equivalent in the market’s solution
-
o Produce a choice matrix table and organize the collaborative selection of the solution
-
Scheduling the activity
-
o Establish a material requisition
-
o Establish an action plan and a schedule
-
o Create a testing procedure
-
Executing the activity
-
o Create the grassroot project
-
o Develop and Implement functions
-
o Test the basic functioning of the project
-
o Complete the instantiation and effective implementation on a typical project for reference.
-
Tests
-
o Full load performance test
-
o Stress test of functionalities
