Full Description

STQ Partners are currently working with a leading & well-established Test & Measurement Solutions business with a rich history with Instrumentation, Measurement & Analytics products.

‍Due to growth, they are now seeking to appoint a Product Manager, specifically for an optical test equipment product line, to join the business in North America.

‍The Product Manager role is key to managing the product lifecycle with a focus on commercial execution and marketing, including annual planning, market and competitive analysis, product release, promotion, target market programs, sales enablement, and feedback to R&D. The Product Manager will also give guidance on pricing, inventory, service, technical support, and training.

The Product Manager will look to drive short and long-term sales and market share growth. This will be done by leading marketing campaigns, target account research, demonstrating key customer applications, and supporting new account penetration tactics.

The ideal candidate will have direct experience with Optical testing Equipment - Optical Spectrum Analyzers (OSAs), Wavelength Meters, OTDRs, and High-Resolution Reflectometers. This experience can come from previous product roles, engineering and design positions or technical sales positions, where you have had to utilise a technical & commercial acumen and understanding of optical test products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of market requirements and influence engineering teams to incorporate these needs into the design of current and future products.
  • Create and implement annual product business plans, defining actionable items and tracking progress.
  • Possess technical knowledge of products, articulate value propositions, key features, competitive positioning, target markets and applications.
  • Collaborate with regional and global marketing teams to develop and launch product and industry related promotional activities, including web content, hardware demos, brochures, advertising, promotional videos, webinars, press releases, exhibition support, and thought leadership. Optimize the ROI for these activities.
  • Create and maintain sales tools, including pitch decks, training materials, competitor comparisons, sales news, customer references, seminars, and other resources.
  • Provide expertise to help sales win large and complex opportunities, including product customizations, partnering or solution selling.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers, sales representatives, application engineers, and internal staff.
  • Collaborate to improve technical support efficiency and ensure all technical data and documents are easily accessible.
  • Financial Goals Achievement - Consistently meet or exceed financial targets.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience
  • 6 to 8+ years practical experience with Test & Measurement (power analyzers, data acquisition, oscilloscopes, optical spectrum analyzers), inverters, motors & drives, EVs, optical communications and network components
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Consistently convey a professional and competent image.
