About the Role We are hiring for one of our clients seeking an Automation Engineer to manage plant process control systems (PCS). Responsibilities include specification, programming, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of PCS systems to improve plant performance, availability, OEE, and MTBF. The role also supports Process, Maintenance, Production, Shipping, Environmental, and Quality teams in using PCS as a tool for operational improvement.
Key Responsibilities Maintain all process-related hardware, software, and documentation. Support maintenance and operation of electrical systems and troubleshoot control systems. Program and maintain PLCs and process control systems (ControlLogix, PLC-5, SLC 500). Manage instrumentation, motors, starters, VFDs, and communication networks (Modbus, ControlNet, Ethernet, DeviceNet). Prevent downtime, extend lifecycle of PCS equipment, and support system upgrades. Assist with installation and integration of new plant equipment. Provide operational data for management reporting and environmental compliance. Maintain standard specifications, drawings, and documentation. Identify improvement opportunities for efficiency and equipment lifecycle. Collaborate with Electrical Supervisors and Process Engineers. Promote health, safety, and environmental best practices.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred. Relevant experience in automation engineering or related field. Knowledge of SAP, AutoCAD, VMWare, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Self-starter and highly motivated team player. Ability to safely use personal protective equipment (PPE); religious or medical accommodations provided.
