Senior Electronics Test Engineer

Permanent | Southend‑on‑Sea

Salary: £35,000–£40,000 (DOE)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Electronics Test Engineer to join a growing electronics manufacturing team. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical capability, excellent organisation, and a passion for delivering high‑quality electronic products.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out functional testing on board‑level audio products, ensuring all equipment is correctly tested, calibrated, and certified according to defined test procedures. Fault‑find to component level across final assemblies and sub‑assemblies, identifying root causes and carrying out effective repairs. Perform high‑accuracy PCB rework, including single‑sided and PTH multi‑layer boards with both through‑hole and surface‑mount components. Work closely with the design team on the creation and maintenance of test procedures. Provide technical support and training to electronics test and production teams when required. Read and interpret circuit schematics, understanding analogue and digital circuits of moderate complexity. Ensure excellent time management and organisation, completing tasks efficiently and to quality standards. Follow health and safety procedures, reporting any faulty tools, equipment, or jigs. Maintain a clean and tidy working environment within the department. Collaborate with the department supervisor to deliver accurate technical feedback on PCB batches received from sub‑contract assembly partners, supporting continuous quality improvement.

About You

Strong experience in electronic fault‑finding to component level. Skilled in detailed PCB rework and handling complex assemblies. Confident in interpreting schematics and understanding circuit functionality. A proactive communicator with excellent organisational skills. Keen attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high technical standards.
