JD and Role Purpose The Test Lead is responsible for leading testing activities for one of the leading banking delivery streams at Client. The role ensures effective test planning, execution, environment coordination, defect management, and team leadership, working closely with Product Owners, Engineers, Business stakeholders, and offshore testing teams within an Agile / SAFe delivery model. The Test Lead plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality releases for customer-facing and core banking systems. Key Responsibilities Test Planning & Delivery
Define and execute stream-level test approach and plans aligned to the overall program test strategy.
Lead test phases including SIT, E2E, UAT support, Regression, and Production Verification.
Ensure test scope, estimates, schedules, and resourcing are aligned with delivery milestones.
Track and report test progress, risks, and quality metrics.
Onshore & Offshore Team Leadership
Lead and coordinate onshore and offshore test teams across assigned delivery streams.
Allocate work, monitor execution, and ensure delivery against quality and timelines.
Support team capability uplift through coaching, reviews, and best practices.
Work closely with vendor teams to ensure quality standards are met.
Test Environment Coordination
Coordinate availability and readiness of test environments (SIT, UAT, Pre-Prod).
Manage test data requirements and environment dependencies.
Identify and escalate environment-related risks and constraints.
Collaborate with DevOps and Platform teams to resolve environment issues.
Defect Management & Quality Control
Lead defect management activities, including triage, prioritisation, and resolution tracking.
Ensure defects are logged with clear reproducibility, severity, and impact.
Conduct defect trend analysis and support root cause analysis.
Ensure quality gates are met before sign-off.
Agile / SAFe Ways of Working
Actively participate in PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
Work closely with Product Owners and Engineers to embed quality early (Shift-Left testing).
Support and promote test automation and CI/CD practices.
Ensure testing activities align with Agile delivery commitments.
Stakeholder Communication
Provide clear and timely updates to Delivery Leads, Product Owners, and Program Test Managers.
Highlight risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
Support business stakeholders during UAT execution and sign-off.
Skills & Experience
Mandatory
8β12 years of experience in Testing / Quality Assurance within Banking or Financial Services.
Extensive expertise in Automation Testing using Selenium web driver, Using Java / C# , BDD, TDD
Expert in QA automation on both process and execution front.
Lead the selection and implementation of automation tools and frameworks
Proven experience as a Test Lead or Senior Test Analyst on Agile banking projects.
Experience managing onshore and offshore testing teams.
Strong experience in test execution, environments, and defect management.
Knowledge of banking systems and services (Payments, Digital, Lending, Core Banking).
Experience working in Agile / SAFe environments.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred
Experience working with Tier-1 banks or large financial institutions.
Exposure to various test automation tools and frameworks.
