About the opportunity We are seeking a Linux Test Automation Engineer to support the validation and quality assurance of eLxr, our Debian-based Linux distribution. The role focuses on developing automated test frameworks, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring system reliability across a variety of hardware and software configurations. Responsibilities & Accountabilities Develop, enhance, and maintain automated test suites for the eLxr Linux distribution. Design and execute test strategies for system, integration, regression, and performance testing. Work with test automation frameworks such as LAVA, Robot Framework, and Pytest. Write automation scripts and tooling using Python, Go, Bash, C, or C++. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or GitHub. Analyze test results, file defects, and collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution. Document test plans, test cases, test results, and enhancements to automation infrastructure. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in Linux system development, distribution engineering Hands-on experience with Linux distributions, preferably Debian or Debian-based systems. Experience contributing to or maintaining open-source projects. Strong programming skills in Python, Go, Bash, C, and C++. Experience working with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI or GitHub Actions. Solid understanding of Linux fundamentals, command line, system internals, and debugging tools Must reside in Greater Ottawa area with ability to be present on site Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required Preferred Qualifications Experience working with cloud environments such as AWS.
