We are looking to grow our team to meet the needs of our customers. TAB Technician Job Summary The Test and Balance (TAB) Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in commercial and industrial buildings. This position involves using specialized tools and equipment to inspect, test, adjust, and balance air, water, and hydronic systems to meet design specifications, improve energy efficiency, and comply with project requirements. The role requires a detail-oriented professional who can work independently or as part of a team to deliver accurate reports and recommendations for system improvements. Technicians will spend most, if not all five days of the work week out of town. Per diem and hotel accommodations are provided.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct field testing and analysis of HVAC systems, including air flow, water flow, pressure, and temperatures.
Adjust and balance systems to achieve optimal performance, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and project documents.
Record detailed measurements and observations during testing, and prepare comprehensive test and balance reports for submission to clients and engineers.
Develop work plans, recommend corrective actions for system deficiencies, and implement safety protocols on job sites.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to troubleshoot issues and verify system functionality post-installation.
Perform testing on commercial HVAC systems, including air handling units, chillers, boilers, and ductwork.

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in HVAC, mechanical engineering, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in testing, adjusting, and balancing HVAC systems is highly desirable.
Certification from a recognized body such as the National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) or Associated Air Balance Council (AABC) is highly desirable.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to job sites.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills for interpreting data and performing calculations.
Proficiency with testing equipment (e.g., manometers, anemometers, flow hoods) and software for data logging and reporting.
Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work in physically demanding environments (e.g., climbing ladders, working in confined spaces).
Self-motivated, reliable, and punctual with strong communication skills for documenting findings and interacting with team members.
