Non-Functional Performance Test Engineer

Role Overview
The Non-Functional Performance Test Engineer will be responsible for defining, executing and managing performance testing activities across software and hardware systems within a mission-critical environment. The role ensures that delivered solutions meet expected performance, scalability, reliability and stability criteria. The consultant will work closely with development, QA and infrastructure teams to diagnose, interpret and resolve performance issues and provide recommendations for improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive end-to-end performance testing strategy for systems in scope Draft performance test plans, maintain documentation, and submit for management review Design and develop performance test scripts using tools from the CSI Technology Portfolio Catalogue Prepare, manage and maintain performance test datasets Execute performance testing cycles including load, stress, endurance, capacity and scalability testing
Analyse system behaviour using performance metrics: CPU, memory, network, garbage collection, database performance and system logs Identify performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, resource issues and failure patterns Capture and interpret test metrics and monitor results using LoadRunner, JMeter and associated tools Collaborate with developers, QA teams and stakeholders to resolve issues and improve performance Create standards and best practices for reusable, maintainable performance test scripts Provide technical recommendations and assist in enhancing capacity, scalability and reliability Produce formal reporting and present performance findings to contractors, managers and governing authorities Enable and mentor QA and development teams in the execution of performance testing Contribute to continuous improvement across tools, processes and methodologies
Required Skills And Experience
Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in software and hardware performance testing Demonstrable expertise in non-functional testing concepts, workload modelling, test design and execution Strong working experience with JMeter and performance monitoring tools; LoadRunner exposure beneficial
Proven experience across the full software lifecycle: requirements, analysis, design, implementation, testing and maintenance Practical knowledge of test planning, estimation, data setup, defect management and configuration management Experience in identifying system-level issues including memory leaks, resource contention and infrastructure constraints Strong analytical reporting skills and ability to write structured testing documentation Excellent communication capabilities with the ability to collaborate effectively with development teams and technical stakeholders Experience working in international and multicultural environments
