Location: Visakhapatnam
Type: Full-time About Aerosimple Aerosimple helps airports streamline airfield inspections, safety/compliance, and operations through configurable workflows, mobile-first tools, and actionable reporting. Our platform supports airport teams in standardizing inspections, improving response times, and maintaining regulatory readiness through better digital processes. As we scale, quality and reliability are critical—our customers rely on Aerosimple for operational readiness, compliance documentation, and daily airport field work.
Role Summary Aerosimple is seeking a QA Manager to lead software quality strategy across our web and mobile products. You will build and own QA processes, manage and mentor QA engineers, and partner closely with Engineering and Product to ensure each release is stable, secure, and customer-ready. This role is ideal for someone who can balance hands-on testing leadership with automation, process design, and release-quality accountability in a fast-moving SaaS environment.
Key Responsibilities Strategy & Leadership Define and drive Aerosimple’s QA strategy across web, mobile, APIs, and integrations. Establish scalable testing practices, including test planning, regression strategies, automation standards, and release readiness criteria. Build and maintain QA metrics (defect trends, escape rate, test coverage, release quality, time-to-detect). Own quality gates and go/no-go criteria for releases in partnership with Engineering and Product.
People Management & Team Development Manage, mentor, and grow a team of QA engineers (manual + automation). Set goals, provide coaching, and promote strong testing discipline and ownership. Support hiring and onboarding for QA team growth.
Test Execution & Automation Lead test planning and execution for new features and platform enhancements.
Process & Release Excellence Collaborate with Product and Engineering to ensure clear acceptance criteria, testability, and risk-based prioritization. Improve bug triage workflows and root-cause analysis practices. Coordinate release validation and production verification (post-deploy smoke checks, monitoring signals, rollback readiness). Strengthen environments and test data practices for reliable, repeatable QA.
Customer Context & Reliability Focus
Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Engineering Leadership to influence system design for quality, observability, and maintainability. Partner with Product to align QA efforts to roadmap priorities and customer impact. Support internal stakeholder testing (UAT) with structured validation plans.
What Success Looks Like High-confidence releases with fewer production issues and reduced defect escape rate. Automated regression suites catch the majority of common breakages early in the dev cycle. QA is deeply integrated into the product development lifecycle—not a final “gate.” Test processes scale smoothly as the product surface area and customer base grow. Engineering and product teams view QA as a strategic partner, not just testers.
Required Qualifications 6+ years of experience in software QA, with 2+ years in a QA leadership/management role. Strong experience building QA processes for SaaS products. Proven success implementing test automation frameworks and CI/CD quality gates. Experience testing APIs and backend systems (REST/JSON, authentication, permissions). Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile practices, and release management. Excellent communication and collaboration skills—ability to align stakeholders on quality standards and risk.
Preferred Qualifications Experience with mobile testing (Android/iOS) including offline workflows. Familiarity with tools such as Playwright/Cypress/Selenium, Appium, Postman/Newman, JMeter/k6, etc. Experience with multi-tenant SaaS, RBAC, configurable workflows, and enterprise security expectations. Background in regulated or compliance-heavy industries (aviation, government, facilities, inspections). Experience with observability and monitoring signals to validate production quality (logs, error rates, performance).
Skills & Attributes Strong leadership with a high bar for quality and ownership. Excellent analytical and debugging mindset; able to quickly isolate root causes. Pragmatic, risk-based approach to testing—knows where to invest effort. Detail-oriented without losing sight of business impact and customer experience. Passion for continuous improvement and building repeatable, scalable systems.
Why Join Aerosimple Meaningful product impact—your work directly supports airport safety and operational excellence. Opportunity to define and scale QA as the product grows. Collaborative product and engineering culture with high ownership. Build quality systems that matter in mission-critical environments.
