We provide: Competitive compensation and benefits Work-life flexibility Recognition and rewards Development and career opportunities A safe and inclusive workplace Why You Will Love this Job BASIC FUNCTION The Engineering Technician role is responsible for facilitating product testing, troubleshooting product issues within the test cell, troubleshooting and maintaining test equipment, facilitating special customer test setup and execution, and organization and improvement of the test cell environment. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues related to generator performance within test cells; provide repair support as needed. Configure, calibrate, and troubleshoot data acquisition systems to ensure accurate test measurements. Contribute to the design and procurement of test fixtures and adapters for exhaust, diesel and gaseous fuel, coolant, and battery connections on a diverse range of generator models. Maintain test equipment such as load leads, fuel lines, and sensor cutout fixtures Collaborate with the test cell team to facilitate efficient and accurate production and customer witness tests including supporting mechanical and electrical connections as well as data acquisition equipment. Work cross-functionally with departments including manufacturing engineering, quality, safety, maintenance, and facilities to align with test cell objectives. Promote and uphold safety standards and 5S workplace organization practices to meet or exceed operational expectations. Execute tasks and responsibilities as directed by the test cell manager. Comply with all established safety and quality policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS Organization Relationships: Reports to test cell manager Frequent contact with Union Operations Employees, Operations and Test Engineering, Production Supervision, Safety, Quality, Maintenance and IT. External Business Relationships: Occasional contact with distributors, dealers and final customers. Occasional contact with suppliers and equipment vendors. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Two-year technical degree and 5+ years' experience working as a generator technician preferred or comparable experience in a similar technician role Experience working on alternators and/or internal combustion engines preferred PC hardware and software knowledge in relation to ecu programming, voltage regulation, and other generator subsystems is preferred. Hands-on experience in troubleshooting electromechanical systems with the ability to diagnose root cause and resolution Experience in reading and analyzing schematics and technical documentation Comfort working in an industrial setting around high voltage and rotating equipment. Strong speaking, writing, and organizational skills to effectively convey information to engineers, union testers, and production management are required. Experience with data acquisition systems such as Dewesoft is preferred. Must be comfortable working independently and as part of a team. The Salary range for this position is $73,400.00-$92,500.00.The specific Salary rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
