Role & seniority: Quality Engineer, mid-level (1–3 years’ quality engineering experience). On-site in Plymouth, MI.
Stack/tools: MS Excel (macros) and data analysis; quality/problem-solving tools; warranty data systems; cross-functional collaboration with customers and internal teams.
Top 3 responsibilities

Serve as single point of contact for warranty tracking and continuous improvement activities.

Analyze field concerns, identify root causes from data, and initiate/report corrective actions to customers and internally.

Establish and maintain a warranty system (databases, reporting methods, problem-solving procedures) and provide regular warranty and corrective action status updates.
Must-have skills
-
Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Math, Engineering, or related field.

1–3 years of quality engineering experience.

Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.

Effective verbal and written communication; ability to work with diverse teams.

Experience creating macros in MS Excel.
Nice-to-haves

Experience interfacing with customer engineering/assembly plants; knowledge of field return analyses.

Ability to generate internal and external reports and participate in returned parts reviews.

The Tokai Rika Group, a Japanese Tier 1 Automotive Supplier, is looking for a Quality Engineer that is ready to learn. Apply solid knowledge of problems solving techniques and root cause analysis to resolve moderately complex issues. Duties
Will be the single point of contact for warranty tracking and continuous improvement activity Responsible for analyzing field concerns, identifying problems from the data collected and initiating and reporting problem resolution actions internally and to customers Establishes and maintains a warranty system that meets the needs of the company and customers, including procedures for analysis of field returns, establishing appropriate databases, internal and external reporting methods and problems solving procedures Analyze warranty data using available sources, including tear-down of product returns from customer Warranty data information systems provided by Customers Interfacing with customer engineering and assembly plants direct dealer interface as required Provide regular summary reporting of warranty issues and corrective action status at frequencies required by the customers, as well as internal management reports Prioritize, initiate and track corrective actions based on field concern data engaging various functional groups within the company as well as with customers as appropriate Ensure company participation in returned parts reviews that are regularly held at the customer facilities
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Math or Engineering related field 1-3 years of experience in the area of quality engineering Effective oral and written communication skills Ability to interact positively with people of diverse cultural backgrounds Experience in creating macros in MS Excel Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills
