  • Proficient in reading drawings, isometrics, weld maps; capable of leading NDT activities and supervising teams

  • Familiarity with Oil & Gas HSE, safety practices; strong communication and organization

Full Description

Job Summary The QA/QC Inspector (RTFI) is responsible for reviewing, interpreting, and approving radiographic testing (RT) films to verify weld quality in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements. The role ensures accurate interpretation, proper documentation, backlog control, and effective coordination with welding teams, NDT technicians, and clients to support timely and compliant project execution. Key Responsibilities Radiographic Film Interpretation & Quality Control Review and interpret radiographic (RT) films to verify weld quality and compliance with applicable codes and project specifications. Ensure accurate identification and classification of weld defects and acceptance or rejection decisions. Provide technical guidance to welding teams on repair locations and defect rectification based on RT interpretation. Prepare weld sketches and mark-up drawings for repair identification and traceability. RT Documentation & Records Management Maintain, organize, and control RT films, reports, and interpretation records in accordance with project and client requirements. Ensure proper storage, handling, and archiving of RT films and electronic records for final dossiers and handover. Maintain RT databases, logs, and traceability records for weld joints and inspection status. Backlog Monitoring & Performance Control Track RT joint backlogs and ensure timely film interpretation and reporting. Ensure RT backlog does not exceed two (2) days of production, highlighting delays and corrective actions as required. Monitor repair rates, reshoots, and overall RT performance indicators to support quality improvement. Supervision & Coordination Supervise RT technicians and monitor daily NDT activities to ensure compliance with approved procedures. Coordinate with NDT subcontractors to ensure inspection activities meet quality, safety, and schedule requirements. Interface with clients, consultants, and third-party inspectors for RT film review, clarification, and approvals. Compliance & HSE Ensure RT activities comply with applicable international codes, project specifications, and Oil & Gas HSE requirements. Verify that NDT operations are conducted in accordance with approved safety procedures and work practices. Required Qualifications & Competencies Diploma or equivalent technical qualification ASNT ACCP Level III or CSWIP / PCN Level II certification in Radiographic Testing Minimum 10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry as a Welding Inspector / RTFI Minimum 5 years of experience post-certification (ASNT ACCP Level III or CSWIP / PCN Level II) Strong knowledge of international codes and standards including ASME, API, AWS, ASTM, and related specifications In-depth understanding of welding processes, techniques, and their applications Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings, isometrics, and weld maps Strong experience in managing NDT subcontractors and supervising inspection activities Familiarity with Oil & Gas HSE requirements, quality standards, and safe work practices Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
