At ML6, we don’t just build AI for our clients; we apply it within our own operations as well. Within the Finance & Compliance unit, the focus is on leveraging AI and automation to support accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and regulatory compliance, while reducing manual effort and operational friction. As an automation engineer, you act as an internal consultant embedded in the Finance & Compliance unit. You work closely with finance, legal, information security and risk stakeholders to translate business and regulatory requirements into reliable technical solutions. A key part of the role is integrating and orchestrating systems across the finance and compliance landscape—connecting ERP, reporting, document management, and control tooling—to enable end-to-end workflows augmented by AI where appropriate. YOUR IMPACT
Process Analysis & Mapping: Perform deep-dives into finance and compliance processes to understand data flows, system dependencies, manual handovers, and control points, identifying inefficiencies and automation opportunities.
Solution Design: Design the future-state architecture, making pragmatic decisions together with stakeholders on buy versus build, including system integration, workflow automation, and where advanced techniques add measurable value versus standard automation or configuration.
System Integration & Engineering: Integrate and build where necessary reliable, secure workflows across finance and compliance systems (e.g. ERP, reporting, document management, and control tooling), ensuring traceability, auditability, and robustness.
Solution Delivery: Deliver end-to-end automation solutions that address real operational needs, combining software development, data pipelines, system integrations, and selective use of AI and LLMs.
Maintenance & Support: Own the solutions post-delivery by providing ongoing maintenance, monitoring, and support to business users, resolving issues and implementing improvements. WHY YOU
Background: A degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. You have a solid, hands-on understanding of financial data, processes, and controls, and can work confidently with stakeholders.
Compliance Domains: You have an interest in legal, risk, and information security processes, and are motivated to improve and, where appropriate, automate workflows in these domains in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Experience: 2–4 years of professional experience in software engineering, automation, or a hybrid finance-technology role.
Technical Skills: Experience with Python. Hands-on experience using automation and integration tools such as Zapier, n8n, or similar no / low code platforms is a plus.
