Infrastructure Automation Engineer (SC Cleared) Contract until 2028 | Defence Consultancy | MOD Project A leading Defence Consultancy and key contributor to national security programmes, is seeking an Infrastructure Automation Engineer with active SC clearance. You will support a major MOD programme running until 2028, helping to develop, automate, and optimise critical infrastructure systems that underpin UK defence operations.

This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting‑edge technologies, shaping robust, scalable, and secure automation solutions within one of the most vital sectors in the UK.

Key Responsibilities Design, develop and validate infrastructure automation components. Create production‑grade automation scripts and classes using Python, Ansible, and Bash, targeting hardware features, services, and configurations. Reverse‑engineer legacy applications and develop reliable parameters for zero‑touch automated deployments. Work within established standards, policies, and version‑control practices using tools such as GIT and BitBucket. Produce and review design artefacts across all development stages. Requirements Hands‑on experience creating complex Python3 automation classes for production environments. Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef. Proficient in scripting languages, especially Bash. Must hold a valid SC Security Clearance.
