ABOUT THE CLIENT Our client is delivering critical infrastructure automation capability across a large-scale UK Defence platform. Operating within a highly secure environment, they are responsible for developing zero-touch, automated infrastructure solutions across complex, multi-vendor estates. Due to continued programme demand, they are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Automation Engineer to support delivery across secure platforms.

THE INFRASTRUCTURE AUTOMATION ENGINEER ROLE As an Infrastructure Automation Engineer, you will design, develop and validate automation components forming part of a secure Defence platform. You will reverse engineer legacy and manual build processes into parameterised, zero-touch automation packages, working primarily with Python3, Ansible and scripting technologies. The role includes producing production-quality code, contributing to design artefacts, supporting system testing, and working within Agile teams using the Atlassian toolset.

INFRASTRUCTURE AUTOMATION ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS Active SC clearance (DV preferred) Strong hands-on experience with Python3 automation development Experience with Ansible, Puppet or Chef Scripting experience in Bash and/or PowerShell Experience automating server, network and storage technologies Exposure to large infrastructure environments Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability Experience working in Agile teams Version control experience (Git / BitBucket) Relevant certification (e.g. CCNP, VCP, RHCE, OCA) highly desirable.
