The Role We are seeking a Senior Development Engineer to lead Speech and User Interface (UI) initiatives. based in Atlanta, GA, you will lead the testing, validation, and verification of telematics components. Your primary goal is to ensure high software maturity and on-time delivery of market-specific Speech Dialogue Systems (SDS) and UI functionalities. Key Responsibilities
Technical Validation: Lead the testing and verification of telematics components, specifically proprietary voice control, recognition, and text-to-speech (TTS) systems.
Issue Resolution: Identify, report, and troubleshoot defects; provide detailed traces and documentation to global development teams and suppliers.
Field Testing: Plan and execute independent development and Ad-Hoc testing sessions, including participation in regular test drives.
System Administration: Manage Unix-based environments via SSH to perform system modifications and updates.
Hardware Integration: Integrate new Electronic Control Units (ECUs), including on-vehicle software deployment and calibration for development units.
Stakeholder Management: Partner closely with global R&D headquarters and external business partners to provide timely technical feedback.
Mentorship: Instruct and mentor junior engineers on technical tasks and testing methodologies.
Vehicle Operation: Regularly drive luxury prototype vehicles as part of the development and validation process.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in the development or validation of automotive embedded systems.
Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of Voice Recognition and UI concepts/implementation.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of E/E systems, ECU updates, and vehicle diagnostic tools.
Languages: Fluency in French and/or Spanish is required; familiarity with Canadian French is a distinct advantage.
Logistics: Must be able to work in Atlanta, GA.
Licensing: Must possess a valid Driver’s License. Preferred Skills Experience with a major Automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier. Familiarity with Cloud API integration and automated scripting. Knowledge of online/offline voice recognition architecture and speech engines. ISTQB Testing certification.
